EncapSulite's cascade of light at Alnwick

Cascade is the latest site-specific light-art installation event by award winning artist and lighting designer, Simon Corder.

To celebrate the recent World Culture Summit, Cascade was created as a unique event set against, within and around the spectacular Alnwick Gardens Grand Cascade.

The Cascade is the largest water feature of its kind in the UK, constructed in a series of 21 weirs, down which 7,260 gallons of water per minute pass at peak flow.

Within the event Corder incorporated a 300m walk-through fluorescent light-art installation created for this special location, along with theatrical lighting, jazz and performance.

For the fluorescent content he used the latest in T5 fluorescent technology from EncapSulite. 138 of the company's new HFI Stick-Lites in various sizes combined with Lavender, Chrome Green, Orange, Sky Blue and Candy Pink deep dyed polycarbonate outer sleeves to create the required effects.

All HFI T5 units are supplied with a choice of lamp colour 865, 840, 830 and 827 with the option of incorporating any one of the EncapSulite DDP colour sleeves, as has been done at Alnwick Gardens.

The lights can be fitted any way up and plug directly into a 230v power supply via the 3m plug and cable supplied. Standard (indoor) and waterproof (WP) IP64 versions are available, both with suspension hook and choice of open clip or more secure clamp for mounting.
